The 2026 was another remarkable year for the Aurora Barbarians RFC. For the first time in club history, every single home game was played in Aurora! ABRFC Field @ Sheppard’s Bush hosted over 60 games and has become the unofficial home for both Ontario and Toronto Rep Games/Training.
Senior Men fielded 3 teams almost every weekend in May/June/July. The Performance squad bowed out to Brantford in the Quarterfinals but promise to have three strong sides in 2027!
Senior Women fielded 2 teams every weekend this year and likely could have put out 3 teams over the course of the summer. The Angels/Barbs2 missed out of the finals by a points tiebreaker to the champions Guelph and the 1st XV lost 18-25 in the OWL Finals. We have a very upcoming squad and really look forward to kicking off the 2027 campaign!
The Junior teams were led by a very strong Under 18 Girls team. The squad lost in a crossover semi-finals 10-12 to Barrhaven Scottish who captured the Ontario Title. The team had four players attend the Canada U18 Camp and another 9 player represent Toronto at the Ontario Summer Games. The Under 18 Boys were in a very tough division with the Ontario Champs and many strong teams in Toronto East. They dealt with rep commitments and player availability to go winless this year but battled hard all year. The Under 16 Girls grow as a program but didn’t find the same success as 2025. The squad was young and eager but faced tough competition every weekend. The Under 16 Boys were heavily loaded by 2011 players in a very tough division. They had some very great games this summer but dropped both games to Oakville and Beach for a 3rd place finish.
2027 Season will become this January with our Sundays Skills in the dome including speed training at 2-3pm. New this year will see Rugby Development Officer- Sam Malcolm running Tuesday/Thursday session in the Dome at 3:30-5pm to help the local high school players.
